WHO AM I?

From the beginning of this difficult journey I knew I had to know who God said I was! Not only did I need to know who God said I was, but I had to believe that I was who God said I was. Did I ???

I am a new creature in Christ. "So then, if anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation; the old is gone the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

God says I am His child.

"But to all who received Him, to those who believe in His name, He has given the right to become His children." John 1:12

I have been justified and redeemed.

"But they are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" Romans 3:24

My old self was crucified with Christ, and I am no longer a slave to sin.

"We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin would no longer dominate us, so that we could no longer be enslaved to sin." Romans 6:6

Holy Spirit convicts, satan condemns.

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1

I have been set free from the law of sin and death.

"For the law of the life-giving Spirit in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

I have been accepted by Christ.

"Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory." Romans 15:7

As a child of God, I am a fellow heir with Christ.

"And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ), if in deed we suffer with Him so we many also be glorified with Him." Romans 8:17

In Christ Jesus, I have wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.

"God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; He made us pure and holy, and He freed us from sin.

1 Corinthians 1:30

I had to read these scriptures over and over again and ask Holy Spirit to help me believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that who God says I am in Him, I was. Once I believed what God said about me, then I could ask Him to help me discern His truth from satan's lies. When I was being accused of things that they believed were true of me, I had to go before the Lord and accept the things I had done or said, ask for forgiveness and let go of the rest that I knew was not true. I could only accomplish this because I knew who I was in Christ and was trying to live my life according to what scripture led me to be. satan can only be powerful when I let him have control of my mind. I fought him off everyday with Holy Spirit giving me His strength to overcome and send satan to hell where he belongs. I am so grateful that God's power and authority are so much greater than my mistakes. God is strengthening me and establishing His purpose for which He has called me.

Do you believe beyond a shadow of a doubt who God's says you are? If you don't, please go to God's word and pray over all the scriptures that He has given you to know who you are in Him. Without Jesus, I could not walk this journey. Without Jesus walking beside me every day all day I could not be moving forward. I am so very thankful and grateful that I have His love, His power to overcome, and His compassion. Jesus has been rejected by the world. No one knows better than Jesus what rejection feels like from the very people He loved and only want His best for. Life can be hard. But with Holy Spirit living in me and guiding me every day I have joy in spite of my saddness. I have a sign in my home that I see everyday that says, there is always something to be thankful for! And there always is. I am so very thankful that God fills me everyday with the fruit of the spirit: LOVE JOY PEACE PATIENCE KINDNESS GOODNESS FAITHFULNESS GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL. Only when I am seeking Holy Spirit am I able to overcome satan and his temptations to believe his lies.

I choose to see all that my life is, and it is full of God's blessings

I am also so very thankful that God knows what I need. Manna enough for today. I only need to focus on today, Jesus has tomorrow already planned. Thank You Lord Jesus
